(A) — Overview

PDFCraft replaces the handful of single-purpose PDF sites people bounce between. A Next.js front end puts all 26 tools behind one search box and a three-step flow: pick a tool, upload and configure, download. The heavy lifting happens in a Python PDF engine that handles compression, conversion to and from Word and images, OCR and page organisation. Uploaded files are deleted automatically after processing.

(B) — The challenge

People bounce between a handful of single-purpose PDF sites, each with its own sign-up wall and upload limits. PDFCraft had to put 26 tools in one place and still feel as quick as the one-trick sites.

(C) — Key decisions

  1. 01

    One search box, three steps

Every tool sits behind a single searchable, keyboard-friendly index and the same flow: pick a tool, upload and configure, download. Learning one tool means knowing all of them.

  2. 02

A Python engine for the heavy lifting

The Next.js front end stays light. Compression, Word and image conversion, OCR and page organisation run in a dedicated Python PDF engine.

  3. 03

    Trust by default

No signup, and uploaded files are deleted automatically after processing. A PRO tier covers heavier use without putting a wall in front of everyone else.
